HOLSM uses surplus and stock fabrics where the customer collaborates in the design and development process to produce an individual lifelong piece.

 

Like many traditional trades, the appreciation of craft is being lost as result of modern convenience and mass consumption. By having a more agile and personalised service and product, HOLSM has the following aims:

  • No Excess inventory

 

The production of a garment is very labour intensive, Cut Make Trim (CMT) usually involves various teams of people for each stage in order to create fast fashion.

 

The process at HOLSM is much slower and more considered. As a result the lead time for a jacket is 8 to 10 working days which also accounts for waiting list time but we will always try to get it to you as soon as possible.

After working over 10 years in menswear design for multiple brands both large and small, UK and internationally, he found that being a designer involved too much theory and not enough practical, lacking the hands on approach.

 

Returning to pattern making, cutting and sewing he rediscovered the satisfaction in crafting a product from start to finish, incorporating a variety of skills. Alongside HOLSM he is a freelance designer and consultant.
